Frank Perkins was born in a family of engineers, which is what prompted him to start designing light high-speed diesel generators with his associates under a different company. In 1932 after the company collapsed due to bankruptcy, he set out to establish his own private company. Currently, Perkins is among the oldest Perkins power generator suppliers of both diesel and gas generators on the 4-2000 kW/5-2800 Horsepower range. The first ever engine they designed was tested in 19, and reached 4000 revs. The company has an average production capacity of close to 800,000 units in a year.
